June 2025 US Trip

June 2025

In June 2025, Maisam Jaljuli, our CEO, and Merav Boaz, her deputy, joined by itworks’ CEO, Yifat Baron, embarked on a strategic US trip to strengthen Tsofen-Tashbik’s network, explore new partnerships, and advance our mission of promoting Arab-Jewish integration through tech, mentorship, and shared society initiatives. Over two weeks, they connected with key stakeholders, philanthropists, and foundations across NYC, Washington DC, and the Bay Area sharing our work and exploring opportunities for collaboration and support.

As rockets rained down on Israel from Iran, Maisam and Boozy found themselves on a very different frontline—walking the halls of Capitol Hill, sitting with hi-tech leaders in Silicon Valley, and meeting philanthropic organizations across the United States. Their mission: to rally hearts and forge alliances for a vision of an inclusive Israeli future where Jews, Arabs, and Palestinians build together. The urgency was sharpened by the sudden loss of USAID support last January, the result of a presidential decision, which left critical programs without the backing they had long relied upon. In conversations with senators, executives, and donors, they spoke candidly of both the challenges and the possibilities—turning a moment of national crisis into a journey of resilience, partnership, and hope.

During our recent U.S. trip, we engaged in strategic meetings and partnerships with key stakeholders, including Jewish Federations, the AJC, Senator Tim Kaine’s office, and local foundations. We explored potential collaborations around shared society initiatives, emphasizing minority integration in hi-tech, and secured strong interest with follow-ups for virtual meetings with both DC and NYC Jewish federations. Additional meetings with Matt Greenwood (Two Sigma), Rabbi Jeremy Kalmanofsky (Ansche Chesed Synagogue), and others helped expand our networks and open new funding avenues. The trip also included connecting with Carol and Terry Winnograd, both emeritus professors at Stanford and members of the JStreet Board.

Overall, the U.S. visit expanded our network, reinforced existing partnerships, and advanced fundraising efforts, positioning Tsofen-Tashbik to further its mission of Arab-Jewish partnership and shared society impact. These meetings generated actionable connections, media and PR opportunities, and continued engagement with influential philanthropists and tech leaders.
